While visiting Quebec City at the beginning of August we stayed in a beautiful basement condo complete with stone walls and a large wood burning fireplace—this is the house in which Adolphe-Basile Routhier reportedly wrote the original French lyrics of O Canada. However, it was the view of the city, specifically the view of rue Saint-Louis, that was most appealing. I was mesmerized by all that passed by.

A few days back I photographed one of the architectural gems on Montreal Road (Ottawa) for VanierNow. The building, designed by Douglas Cardinal and his son Bret, is stunning.
