While visiting Quebec City at the beginning of August we stayed in a beautiful basement condo complete with stone walls and a large wood burning fireplace—this is the house in which Adolphe-Basile Routhier reportedly wrote the original French lyrics of O Canada. However, it was the view of the city, specifically the view of rue Saint-Louis, that was most appealing. I was mesmerized by all that passed by.

A few days back I photographed one of the architectural gems on Montreal Road (Ottawa) for VanierNow. The building, designed by Douglas Cardinal and his son Bret, is stunning.

Looking at the design of the empty windows, an idea struck me: put a woman wearing colourful clothes in each of the openings." Click on image to read full story.
